The Division of Engineering Technology (ET) supports the Wayne State University mission through its commitment to teaching, research and service in select areas of engineering technology. The specific teaching mission of the Division of Engineering Technology is to serve the needs of industrial infrastructure by providing undergraduate and graduate educational opportunities in the engineering technology arena of the engineering enterprise. We provide for highly individualized study and promote greater depth of understanding in the field of specialization. Our curriculum allows more advanced coverage in specialized topics, develops more rigorous analytical skills, helps to advance expertise, and independent as well as team oriented tasks.

Our Vision

The Vision of the Division of Engineering Technology is to be the leading undergraduate Engineering Technology program in the State of Michigan for upper-division students, to be the graduate school of choice for professionals wishing to expand or upgrade their knowledge, and to be recognized as a valuable collaborative partner to local industry.  We will continue to develop and improve our curricula, experimental and computational laboratories, instruction delivery systems, scholarly activities, and enhancing the quality of life for our students and faculty.  We will support faculty development through participation in technical and professional meetings, and community activities.  These will enable us to make useful contributions to the improvement of the engineering technology profession in metropolitan Detroit, State of Michigan, and the nation in the short- and long-term.
